PLANNING AND
FUNDING ACTIVITY

Area 4 follows a three-step process (as shown below) which normally repeats on a four-year interval.

                     

First, a comprehensive Needs Assessment is done in each county to determine the top needs of older adults in the service area. 

Second, A4AA sets major goals and specific objectives that are intended to address those needs by drafting a new Area Plan.

Third, a Request for Proposals (RFP) is issued, and funding is awarded to community based organizations to deliver Older Americans Act services.
